I created this blogsite with resources for a group of women volunteers and event organizers in the Tri-Cities area.
The group's leader was looking for a feeling that embodied international textiles, turquoises, golds and browns. I created this tiled background from an actual sample of indian fabric and tied in all of the desired colors into a website that also serves as a blog! With lots of charitable events to plan, the ladies needed a place to communicate, so I also made a phpbb3 discussion board and customized the settings for them, along with an event calendar. Features will continue to grow as they are needed, and now their website can keep up with all of the future events and discussions they will have!
I love colors and the feeling of this site. It is fast loading and functional--it turned out great!

I wanted to share two of my most recent projects!
The first was a redesign on a music blog. We went from an all black theme that lacked in personality and eyecandy to something fresh with a bit of modern/retro...vintage Halloween cats and wood paneling! I really like the look of the finished project. We also added media and a more custom logo. Neat look and a great blog, too!

The second is a special website I built to honor a special young friend of mine who passed away this year due to brain and spinal cancer. She was only four years old. Her family has started a grassroots fundraising effort in her honor to collect character bandaids for local hospitals, to make the repeated "pokings" that are a reality for many sick children a more enjoyable process.

Joyful Noise is an awesome Christian childcare program in Grand Haven, Michigan, offering care from infants to school age children. They have a wonderful program and offer many resources on their website, which I have created, run and maintenanced for the last four years. The newest version of the website is bright, sunny, and offers much for parents and new people stopping by. It is a great tool for any parent who is a part of their program and I'm happy to help offer these services online!http://www.rememberwhensnapshots.com/
This project was a re-design on a website for a photographer named Stacy Yeiter, and her business "Remember When Photography". I did Stacy's website for her last year and she decided she was ready for a change! Like many other small business owners, Stacy had been hearing alot about the "blog site" and wanted to try it out.
Stacy was attracted to blues, blacks and sort of a modern feel. So I created this site that was fairly simple, with clean navigation, on a black and white damask background for an elegent yet modern feel. The logo I created was also part of the decorative touch that Stacy was looking for. Attracted to scrolls, quilt like adornments and block-stamp patterns, this logo seemed to fit directly with the idea she was going for.
Thanks for your business, Stacy! Glad we hit the mark on your new site.
What is a blog site?
Well, like the name suggests...it is a blog and a website all in one. But, the wonderful thing is that it LOOKS like a website. And it is highly customizable. Everything you find on your website can be found on a blogsite, with no advertisements...and free hosting, saving you money.
The other wonderful thing about a blog is that it has high searchability. New websites will show up in search results in major search engines without submission...something really coveted by those looking to be recognized on the internet without spending all day and night "plugging" their website. This is so important for the "underdogs" out there--small businesses and hobbyists that want to get their name out, but don't have the cash to fork out for online advertisment.
But here is the best part: You, the owner of the website, have control over input! You can constantly bring fresh and dynamic content to your website with blog postings, putting brand new information in a steady stream on your main page. No normal website will allow you to do this. Web designers may not want to share this with you, because in the past, every picture and bit of text had to be added by someone with the expertise to edit and maintain websites. This new format gives the power back to the owner of the website and is an awesome investment for anyone wanting the ability to keep their site " current".
How much is a blog site? Rates vary, depending on custom graphics, content, navigation and other details. But a basic blog site starts at $200 (cost of domain name for 1 year included) and goes up from there, with the addition of custom graphics and other elements! Welcome to Muskegon Design--offering website design, blog design, logos, business card design, advertisement and banner creation, networking site setup (such as Facebook, Myspace, or Twitter), resumes and Cv's, portfolios, site maintenance and makeovers and more!
These days, web and graphic designers seem a dime a dozen...and everyone wants ALOT of money for the simplest of tasks.
What is different about Muskegon Design?
For one, I pride myself on customer communication. I let you know what is going on, every step of the way. I am very intuitive and I can often guess what your needs are before you even know them! Consultations are free. Do you need an arbitrary viewpoint on your existing website or project? Do you need an affordable makeover? Or maybe you are just starting out...and you need to dip your toes in the water before jumping in head first. Let me help you get started with an attractive, up to date website or logo for a very affordable price!
Another thing that is different about Muskegon Design is the time frame I work in. I will not give you a deadline for completion that is a month away. Many of my projects are completed in 1-2 days. Usually, no project takes longer than a week unless the exchange of info between the client is time-restrained for some reason. (Edits are taking place, new files being created, etc.)
Unlike a large corporation, you won't have trouble getting me on the line. And I'm sensitive to the tight budget you may be working with. I want to help the under dog achieve great things!
Contact me today and let me know what I can do for you. :)
